What is my writing about?
I write to understand what I care about — and why. My self-reflective pieces often center around food, travel, spirituality, culture, and the way personal experience meets larger systems like politics, education, or media.
Some pieces lean towards personal:
“How I Got Into Tarot” explores spiritual tools as a way to access the subconscious and tend to the inner world.
““A Can of Coke” is a raw piece where I dive into the triggering wold of eating disorders, whereas in “Butter” I celebrate my new found connection to food and how it is both a healing and creative expression for me as the kitchen becomes a place of grounding and love.
Others turn outward:
“15 Inspiring East-Asian Female Authors” blends culture, feminism, and a deep appreciation for artists who expand how we see the world in a celebration of AAPI month.
“Welcome to the ‘Real’ World” questions how society values education — especially when it comes to real-world budget cuts and shifting priorities.
Whether I’m writing about a recipe or a political shift, I’m often asking the same question: what does this reveal about who we are, and who we’re becoming?
