Meet Michelle
Writer, creative and explorer.
About me

With a degree in writing and a love for language, I use it to build and collaborate across creative, digital spaces.
As an x-primary teacher turned IT girlie, I love when inspiration and innovation intersect.
I have a soft spot for purple prose — the kind of writing that plays with rhythm, image, and emotional texture — but I also know how to hold structure. My background includes academic essays on literature, educational research, and research-based writing, so I’m comfortable moving between the analytical and the poetic.
I write both fiction and nonfiction. My process usually begins with gathering everything I can: interviews, research, first-person reflections — whatever helps bring the voice and intent into focus. From there, I draft instinctively, letting the language lead. Eventually, a form begins to emerge. I shape it into something that flows — whether that’s guided by logic, emotion, or a mix of both.
Depending on what’s needed, I can write with a marketing lens (buzzwords, SEO, strong hooks), or take a more creative, reflective approach that feels deeply personal to the person or story I’m working with.
Literary background
My academic and literary background:
I studied creative writing at Indiana University, where I learned from writers whose work had shaped my own — like Catherine Bowman and Adrian Matejka. I even got to workshop with Wesley Chu, whose sci-fi stories gave me a new way to think about storytelling.
Over the years, my writing has won a few awards, been published in local magazines, and found its way into community journals and conservation newsletters. But what I value most is the process — collaborating, refining, and helping stories find their shape.

What I do
Whether it’s a spark of an idea or a rough draft on your screen, I’ll help bring it to life — with care, clarity, and respect for your voice.
Whether it’s an idea you’re still forming or something already written that needs refining, I help shape meaningful, human writing that feels like you.
I’ve worked with individuals on:
Autobiographical writing — helping someone turn memories into a memoir, honoring their voice and personal history.
Ghostwriting private stories — transforming conversations, journals, or voice notes into cohesive, beautiful narratives for personal or family archives.
Writing journal articles — highlighting local community events with care, accuracy, and storytelling that connects people to place.
Each project is personal. I work collaboratively, ask thoughtful questions, and take care to ensure the final piece feels aligned with your vision.
Whether you’re building a brand, growing a platform, or simply trying to connect with the right people, I help craft content that feels thoughtful, clear, and true to your voice.
I’ve worked on:
LinkedIn posts that feel less like self-promotion and more like storytelling with purpose
YouTube scripts that balance structure with authenticity
Captions for TikTok and Instagram that support the visuals and invite connection
Short-form blog and Substack posts that distill big ideas into something readable, shareable, and human
clarity, and respect for your voice.
Bring your story to life
Content Creation
Editing and Proofreading
I work closely with individuals and businesses to ensure writing is not only clean and correct, but also clear, consistent, and aligned with voice or brand guidelines.
I’ve helped clients with:
Grammar and style consistency — editing content to align with company-specific guidelines (e.g., switching between American and British English based on need)
Translated texts — refining grammar, spelling, and syntax for professional communication, making sure translated content reads naturally and clearly
Website and business copy — editing for clarity and persuasiveness, especially for non-native English speakers wanting their message to land with confidence
Language expertise — certified to teach English spelling, grammar, and punctuation, which adds an extra layer of care and accuracy to everything I review
Not everything fits neatly into a category — and that’s okay.
If you’ve got a writing project that doesn’t quite match what’s above, but you think I might be a good fit, feel free to reach out. I’m always open to hearing about creative collaborations, unusual formats, or simply helping you find the right words for something important.
